The main tasks of the Department are:

1. Implementation of the established procedure for state registration and changes in registration documents on medical devices.

2. Conducting of the State register of medical devices and of organizations (individual entrepreneurs) engaged in the production and manufacture of medical devices.

3. Conducting of the register of notifications on the implementation of activities in the sphere of circulation of medical devices.

4. State control over circulation of medical devices on the territory of the Russian Federation.

5. Conducting of the register of issued permits for the importation of medical devices for the purpose of State registration.

6. Maintaining of a list of medical institutions conducting clinical trials of medical devices.

7. Maintaining the Nomenclature classification of medical devices by type.
